This site is designed as a set of language learning tools for people who are studying Mandarin Chinese. The tools are especially useful for students wishing to take HSK exams. The site comprises many tools and features with more to come in the near future so come back and check on progress, see the road-map for further details. This site can be used on multiple devices for example on a browser, on your tablet or mobile, the layout is slightly different but the functionality is the same. Use the menu at the top of the page to navigate the site and please provide some feedback here.

The tools are built using the open source chinese dictionary CCEdict and has been restructured to build the tools. Since the CCEdict is open source it may contain some errors. Please advise via email if inaccuracies are found.

The dictionary tool allows a user to search in multiple ways, for instance by simplified characters, traditional characters, English meaning, Pinyin in any form wǔ ān, wu3 an1, wu an. Make your search type from the toolbar and search for your query. Once the search has been submitted you will see the results in the grid, by clicking on a row in the grid you will see the stroke order diagrams for that selection appear in the Stroke order section of the page. These are animated characters and have the radical highlighted for indicative purposes. You can use the page functionality at the foot of the grid to navigate your way around the results, you can also sort the grid by clicking on the little arrow in the header column, useful when sorting by stroke order for instance.

The radical explorer is a great way to get to know your radicals. This multi function tool allows you to expore both traditional and simplified radicals. Use the toolbar to select which mode you would like to use. The tree view will arrange the radicals by stroke count in either traditional or simplified forms. For example the character for horse in traditional has 10 strokes so look in the folder marked 10. In simplified it has 3 so select simplified and look under the folder 3 and you will find it. Click the required radical to get information for that radical. The radical information box will give you information on your selected radical. The grid will also show a list of characters, pinyin, meaning and total strokes that use that radical along with the total number of characters that use it.

The classifier or measure word tool is useful for learning measure words for different things or can be used to find the words that use a specific measure word. Use the tab control to select whether you want to search for classifier or words, enter your query and hit enter the grid will be populated with either a set of words for a given classifier or a classifier for a given word. It does not list the generic ge 个 classifier as it is almost universal. Clicking on one of the rows in the results grid will show you the stroke order diagram for that selection in the strok order section.

This section lists all of the 5000 HSK 2.0 characters from levels 1 through 6 in a card style format. Use the toolbar to select which level you want to explore. Use the navigate buttons to go through the pages of entries or use the filter button the narrow the search, you can filter by meaning or pinyin. Once you see a card you want to know more about click the blue info icon and a modal window will show you the explanation and stroke diagrams for the entry. In future there will be functionality to save these cards to your profile and then use them as SRS flashcards. When filtering it will filter through the whole of the current level.

Check all 11,000+ words of the new HSK 3.0 curriculum. HSK 1 to HSK 6 and 7+ which comprises level 7 to level 9. Select which level you require and the cards for each work will show up. Some extra functionality will be added to this to allow, sorting, filtering and a better UI experience.

The text editor will allow you to create documents and get statistics for the said document. Statistics will include - amount of words by HSK level, frequency of words, simplified <=> traditional conversions and much more.
